P.G./M.Tech Fellowship

SCHEME OF POST GRADUATE FELLOW SHIP FOR ENGINEERING GRADUATES

Instituted by State Project Facilitation Unit (SPFU), Lucknow, U. P. at TEQIP-II assisted Institutions of Uttar Pradesh under World Bank’s Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme Phase II FELLOWSHIP GRANT.

The Fellowship consists of

(i) Scholarship: Rs. 12,400/- per month for the whole duration of tenure (24 months) subject to terms and conditions of the scheme

(ii) Contingency Grant of Rs. 10,000/- for consumables, stationary, postage, etc. for full course subject to terms and conditions of the scheme

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION

Application for award of Fellowship is to be submitted to the G.B.T.U. Lucknow on the prescribed application form against the notification issued by the University.
Selection of the candidate shall be through a written test conducted by the university. The number of scholarships will be notified by the University (Branch and Institutewise) depending upon the availability of seats at respective Institute. The application format shall be available on the university website i.e. www.gbtu.ac.in

OPERATION OF THE SCHEME

Host institution shall submit a proposal about the availability of seats in their institute branch wise for inclusion in the university advertisement, however preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates and this scheme is applicable to the eligible students who have not qualified GATE and are admitted in the course. The number of seats in a particular branch will not exceed that sanctioned by the AICTE in the respective course.

ELIGIBILITY

The students who are admitted to AICTE approved M.E. / M. Tech courses in TEQIP funded institutions will only be eligible to receive the scholarship.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions will govern the grant of the scholarship:

  • It will be obligatory for every post-graduate student to undertake 6 to 8 hours (per week) of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him/her by the Institute. This could include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computers and other central facilities, assistance in library etc.
  • The institute will work out specific programme(s) of work and maintain the record of each student.
  • The students must secure a first class or equivalent CGPA/Grade during the first semester and the second semester examination to become eligible for continuance of scholarship during the second semester and the third semester respectively. Scholarship once discontinued will not be continued again, even if a student secures first class or equivalent CGPA/Grade after second semester.
  • The scholarships may be discontinued at any time for kind of misconduct by the student receiving the same as judged by a disciplinary committee of the institution.
  • A student shall be required to give an undertaking to the effect that he/she would not leave the course midway or appear in any Competitive Examination in order to be eligible to receive this scholarship.
  • During the course of studies, the student shall not receive any emoluments, salary, stipend etc. from any other source.
  • In no case will the scholarship be allowed for a period of more than 24 months.
  • No House rent allowance (HRA) is admissible to the student receiving scholarships.
  • The student shall be eligible for medical facilities as per Institute/College rules.
  • Foreign students admitted under sponsored category will not be eligible for these scholarships.
  • The student shall be entitled for leave for a maximum period of 30 days per year in addition to general holidays but is not entitled to vacations i.e., summer, winter, pooja etc.
  • The SPFU/GBTU/Institution may impose any other conditions as deemed necessary from time to time.
